Not that anyone cares, but this is precisely the sort of insanity I experienced in SF when I was in film school. That ideology, unheard of almost everywhere else in the world, spread through the many social media companies which were all located in the SF Bay Area.

back in 2020 my brother had the ok hand as a zoom background as a joke. He had no idea that it was a hate sign. Eventually a teacher noticed it and talked to him as well as making him change his background.
